About

Short games, honest scores

Porchlight Games is a free library of 20 small browser games. Each one takes a minute to learn, plays in a few minutes, and keeps score so you can chase a better run.

The games are built and run by Hamelton in Keokuk, Iowa. There are no ads, no downloads and no tracking scripts. New games are added regularly.

How it works

  1. 1. Pick a gameBrowse by type or search the full list on the home page.
  2. 2. PlayEvery game runs right in the page, on desktop or phone.
  3. 3. Save your scoreLog in and your best runs are ranked and shareable.

How scores work

When a run ends, the game reports your score and the site saves it to your account. Your best run per game counts on the leaderboards, which can be filtered by day, week, month or all time. Playing as a guest is fine, and a guest score is kept for your session so you can save it by logging in. Scores are checked against a sensible maximum for each game and submissions are rate limited.

Score sizes are not comparable between games, so the Top 5 on the home page is simply the largest numbers on the site. Each game has its own fair board.

Questions

Do I need an account?

No. You only need one to keep scores, appear on leaderboards and get a profile page.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Games use touch controls where they need them, and the pages fit small screens. Most games also have a fullscreen button.

Where is the help for each game?

Every game page has a guide below the game, with pictures of the pieces, cards and symbols it uses.

My score did not save.

Check that you are logged in and the run actually ended. A score saves when the game over screen appears. If it still looks wrong, tell me through hamelton.net.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. The account page deletes your account and every score attached to it. See Privacy for details.
